Trying to wipe out your credit card debt? Striving to ease your student loan burden? Taking a crack at putting away money to buy a home?
Whatever the case, you might have considered part-time work to earn some extra cash. These days, many part-time workers at fast-food joints are pulling in pay that’s above minimum wage; the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. There are some part-time gigs, however, that pay well beyond the minimum.
Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, along with data from FlexJobs, Knowledge Roundtable, PayScale, and Glassdoor, here are 13 high-paying jobs where you can work 34 hours a week or less.

Tips for finding part-time jobs
Do any of those part-time gigs sound appealing? Even if they don’t, it never hurts to keep your options open by following these tips from FlexJobs.
Update your LinkedIn profile.
Make sure all of the information on your LinkedIn profile is accurate and updated, particularly your contact details.
“Add ‘Currently looking for part-time work’ to your profile so hiring managers scoping out LinkedIn will be sure to take notice — and reach out,” FlexJobs says.
Don’t have a LinkedIn profile? It’s time to create one.
Visit online job boards.
Sites like FlexJobs (as well as Indeed, Monster, CareerBuilder and others) list loads of part-time positions. Spend a little time searching job sites to find the right gig for you.
Ask around.
Don’t be shy about broadcasting the fact that you’re hunting for a part-time position. You’ve got to be assertive; let everyone know you’re in the market for part-time work. A part-time job won’t automatically land in your lap.
“So put out some job-seeking feelers and talk to those closest to you first. Find out if their companies are hiring or if they know of some that are,” FlexJobs advises.
