Julia Kagan is a contributing editor at Policygenius, where she specializes in life insurance. Previously, Julia was the senior personal finance editor at Investopedia for nearly a decade, a vice president and editorial director at Consumer Reports, the editor of Psychology Today, and the vice president of content at Zagat Surveys.

She also served as the Visiting J. Stewart Riley Professor of Journalism at Indiana University Bloomington, Chair of the Board for the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, executive editor of Working Woman magazine, and health director of Ladies' Home Journal.

Julia won a National Magazine Award in 2004 and was an NMA finalist in 1986, 1999, 2000, and for an additional award in 2004. She also won the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism in 2000.
