Policygenius is a New York City-based, online insurance marketplace helping people get the coverage they need — and feel good about it. We help consumers find the right insurance for their life and everything in it, including home, auto, disability and health. We started in 2014 and are one of the early insurtech pioneers. We were named one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces 2018.
Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States. Employees of Policygenius, its parents, affiliates and subsidiaries, participating, advertising and promotion agencies, and prize suppliers (and members of their immediate family and/or those living in the same household of each such employee) are not eligible.
Applicant must either be a current high school or home school senior graduating from an accredited high school between January 2019 and June 2019 and will be attending an accredited U.S. college or university during the fall semester 2019 or a current college freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student who will be enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university for the fall 2019 semester.
Recipient will receive a one-time scholarship payment of $3,000 to be applied toward undergraduate tuition for the 2019 - 2020 academic year. Funds are provided by Policygenius. Payments are issued by Policygenius, made payable to the student's approved college or university and mailed within 30 to 60 days after notification to the recipient of their award, directly to the accredited college or university last designated by the student.
The winner is selected after a team of judges reviews all entries, after the deadline of July 28, 2019 at 11:59:59 p.m. PST. Applicants are judged on thoughtfulness, insight and writing mechanics, as well as any other parameters the editorial board sees fit. The winner will be announced by August 15, 2019.
Conditions of Award: If any other funds cover the tuition entirely for the student's 2019 - 2020 academic year, the student is no longer eligible to receive this scholarship and will forfeit the award.
The institution must be a four-year accredited institution and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education. All school transfers are subject to accreditation approval.
The recipient must be actively enrolled full-time as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, for the fall 2019 semester and for the entire academic year without interruption, barring illness, emergency, or military service. It is the recipient's responsibility to verify receipt of funds with their designated institution and notify Policygenius should the award check not arrive on or about 30 days from the issue date.
