Congratulations — you’re getting married! In between the excitement of telling your loved ones and finding the perfect venue, you may want to begin thinking about the budget for your special day.

Weddings are expensive, costing an average of $33,931, according to a 2018 survey by The Knot, a wedding planning website. There are some simple ways to cut down on the overall cost of your wedding, including capitalizing on the many freebies available for the betrothed.

Here’s a list of 11 freebies, discounts and deals for your wedding.

Wedding invitations

Almost everything wedding-related costs money, including invitations. If you’re willing to do it yourself, there are a number of resources available to download and print your own wedding invitations, including Wedding Chicks and Venngage. Or you can keep your invitations digital using eVite.

Wedding website

A wedding invite is a great way to let your loved ones know about the details of your special day. You can create one for free on The Knot.

Wedding cake

While you can’t get your entire wedding cake for free unless you bake it yourself, most bakeries offer free tastings for you and your fiance to sample before the big day. Some caterers also allow you to sample their menu beforehand.

While flowers make any wedding ceremony beautiful, costs can quickly add up. Skip the expensive bouquet and opt for self-picked flowers, donated flowers from a local church or make your own bouquet using paper or plastic flowers.

Register your wedding gifts with the online marketplace and Amazon will send you a 10% coupon for anything left on your registry. Prime members can get a 20% coupon (you can learn more discounts and deals for Prime members here.)

Engaged couples can also get bonus gifts from select vendors, including a blender and cup for couples who receive $650 or more in Kenmore registry gifts, or gourmet cookware for couples who register for $500 or more of Anolon products.

Here are some more freebies exclusive for Amazon Prime members.

Crate & Barrel

You can get up to 15% off your wedding registry items for three months after your wedding date, and free shipping on purchases of $99 or more. Crate & Barrel also offers exclusive benefits with their partnered brands, including 15% off Paper Source wedding invitations and $15 off a Black Tux rental.

Register for your wedding at the superstore and get 15% off everything left on your registry after your wedding day. You can also return exchange gifts up to a year after your wedding.

A Williams-Sonoma wedding registry gets you 10% off on all purchases for six months after your wedding. You’ll also get entered into a monthly sweepstakes for a chance to win a collection of prizes from select brands.

There are other bonus gifts for specific brands available, like a free skillet for registering $800 worth of All-Clad products, or a paring knife if $450 in purchases of Wusthof cutlery.

Here's how to plan a wedding without your bridal party going broke.

Couples can get 10% off on all registry gifts for up to six months after the wedding. Expect to find other freebies for selected brands.

Sur La Table

Register for select items at Sur La Table and the retailer will send you free wedding registry gifts. Examples include aprons and gift cards. Married couples can also get 10% off Sur La Table products after their event.

Create your wedding registry at Dillard’s and get 20% all items left on the list after your event. Register for certain products and that brand will offer up bonuses. For example, register for $150 worth of Cuisinart products and receive a free popcorn maker.
