This is the latest edition of our series, Lifetime Subscriber. From clothes to food to vitamins, we review popular subscription services and decide if they’re worth the price.
Wearing bright, colorful socks is a trend I’m more than happy to get behind. And since there’s a subscription for just about anything, it only makes sense there’s one for socks.
Sock Fancy’s model is straightforward: Sign up and get one or two pairs of socks delivered to your door each month. But these aren’t regular tube socks. Sock Fancy’s socks are colorful, patterned and playful.
Sock Fancy allows subscribers to select from a range of “less bold” to “more bold” patterns, so you won’t be able to choose a specific pattern. If you don’t like a pair, you can send them back in for a replacement.
Sock Fancy offers three subscriptions: one pair a month for $12, two pairs a month for $19 or six pairs a quarter for $54. Seasonal subscribers get access to limited edition designs.
Sock Fancy’s socks are made with cotton, polyester, nylon and spandex.
I received two socks in my package — one gray with white road tracks, the other with avocados. Both were mid-calf socks made of the same soft, stretchy material. According to its website, Sock Fancy women’s socks comfortably fit shoe sizes 5 to 10 (men’s socks fit shoe sizes 8 to 14). I am a shoe size 8, and the socks fit perfectly.
I wore both pairs of socks to work, and even wore a pair while skiing over the holidays. They kept my feet warm without being too hot. They also added a fun element of style to my wardrobe.
Sock Fancy doesn’t disappoint. Their patterns are playful and fun, while the fabric is comfortable and not itchy. No matter the office environment or event, Sock Fancy is a low-effort way to show off your style. The subscription service is also an easy gift option and an exciting way to give someone socks for Christmas.
The cost is on par with or lower than what you would pay for two nice pairs of socks. If you want to show off your style in an understated way, Sock Fancy is for you.
