1/2-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated or chopped
1/2-inch piece of fresh turmeric, grated or chopped
1 teaspoon unfiltered apple cider vinegar
Juice of half a small lemon
Honey to taste
Put all ingredients except honey in a teapot; add boiling water; let steep for five minutes; pour or strain into a mug, then add honey to taste. You can also just put all ingredients straight in a mug, if you’re okay with your drink being a little pulpy.
Drink one to two cups a day as soon as you start to feel a cold coming on and throughout your illness. You can double or triple the recipe and keep it in a thermos to sip all day long.
