Catastrophic plans

A definition of catastrophic plan.

Catastrophic plans are low-cost, high-deductible plans only available to people under the age of 30 or those with a hardship exemption. Catastrophic plans have a deductible that equals the out-of-pocket maximum, which means you would be protected from worst-case scenarios but would pay most routine costs yourself.
