You can add on a cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) to your long-term disability coverage. COLA increases your disability benefit by a certain percentage each year to match inflation growth. For example, if you become disabled and are unable to work — you'll get increasing disability benefits each year. COLA will gradually raise your benefits to match inflation growth during your benefit period.
