Perils are the causes of loss or damage to property. Some examples of perils are fire, burglary, and water damage caused by a burst pipe.A "named perils" policy is a policy that covers only the perils specifically listed. (The other type of policy, "all risk," covers any peril that's not listed under "exclusions.") A "named perils" policy provides more limited coverage than an "all risk" policy.
