They have eccentric saving habits. They always know their account balances to the penny. They employ astonishingly effective bargain hunting strategies. We all know these people, these super savers who turn money management into a kind of performance art, and in the process highlight our own financial shortcomings.
The brain of a super saver just seems to work in a different way, and we'd like to know why―or at least whether we can copy any of their behaviors. So like cash-strapped wildlife biologists, we're embarking on the blog version of a catch-and-release program where we track down these enviable beasts and try to figure out how they think.
