Chances are, you have Amazon Prime. The popular subscription service costs $12.99 per month or $119 per year when you pay upfront, a price point that’s easily justified by Prime’s core selling point — free shipping.
But even longtime Prime subscribers might not know all of the service’s benefits. Here are 40 freebies, deals and discounts for Amazon Prime members.
Your Amazon Prime subscription covers two-day shipping, but you can also score free one-day, same-day or even 2-hour delivery on select items in certain areas.
Prime members can stream popular Amazon Originals, including “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Jack Ryan” and “Fleabag.”
Stream a rotating library of dramas, comedies, action films and more online or via your phone, tablet, game console or Smart TV.
Prime members have access to over 2 million songs, without ads, via Amazon Music.
You can take out up to ten free titles at a time from the Amazon Prime Reading catalog. Subscribers with an Amazon Kindle can also tap an even bigger selection — including all seven “Harry Potter” books — through the site’s Lending Library, which lets you borrow one new book each month.
You can also get free issues of popular magazines through Prime Reading. The Summer 2019 reading list, for instance, includes “Architectural Digest”, “Entrepreneur” and “Vanity Fair”. (Psst … we have our own summer reading list here.)
Prime subscribers can get two free audiobooks if they sign up for a free trial of Audible.
Prime members can listen to a rotating line-up of free podcasts on Audible Channels. (Looking for a new podcast? Check out our list of best personal finance podcasts.)
Prime members are eligible for a free monthly subscription to live streaming platform (and Amazon subsidiary) Twitch. Twitch Prime includes free games and special offers.
Prime members get free unlimited photo storage for themselves and up to five friends or family members. They also get five gigabytes of storage for video, documents and other files via Amazon Photos.
Not a subscriber yet? You can try Prime out for 30 days, free of charge.
Prime members can get new video games, books, music and movies by 7 p.m. on their launch date by choosing Release-Date Delivery on qualified items at checkout.
If you sign up for Amazon Product sampling, the retail giant will send you free samples of new products in the mail.
A Prime membership also scores free standard shipping on daily deals site — and Amazon subsidiary — Woot.
The Woot shipping freebie extends to Shirt.Woot, a line of graphic T-shirts, apparel and artwork.
Prime members who reload a gift card via a bank account or linked debit card can get a 2% bonus on the funds when they go through Amazon’s reload program.
Occasionally, Amazon will offer Prime members a credit (usually around $5) if they opt for no-rush shipping at checkout. (Learn more Amazon Prime hacks.)
Get a $5 Amazon credit when you add $20 to Amazon Cash, which lets you shop without a credit or debit card on the site.
Amazon purchased Whole Foods back in 2017 and rapidly rolled out perks at the grocery chain to Prime subscribers. Chief among them is access to seasonal deals and an extra 10% off items marked with a yellow tag in stores.
Prime members in select cities can get two-hour delivery free from their local Whole Foods store. Check if you’re eligible on Amazon’s website. Learn more Whole Foods hacks.
Prime members who sign up for Prime Pantry (and pay an additional $4.99 a month) receive free shipping on orders of $10 or more. Don’t have a Pantry membership? Prime members still receive free shipping on Prime Pantry orders of $35 or more.
Amazon partners with Give Back Box so you can get free shipping when you send charitable donations to partner organizations in an Amazon box. Just download the label online.
If you have one of Amazon’s Alexa-enabled devices, you can access some additional freebies.
Ask Alexa to find you easy dinner recipes for free. Or she can teach you how to whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. (We also have a cookie recipe that’s pretty delicious, if we do say for ourselves.)
Play an assortment of free games, including Jeopardy and Twenty Questions, with your Amazon Echo or Echo Dot.
Schedule and track chores for your entire family using Alexa’s Skill Blueprints.
Amazon Prime members get 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals, which are daily deals that last for a limited amount of time.
Prime members can score 20% off their first pet food order if they create an Amazon pet profile for their furbaby.
Prime Wardrobe lets you try clothes, shoes and accessories before buying them. Subscribers can choose up to 3 items at a time, try them on during a seven-day period and only get charged for whatever they don’t ship back to Amazon. It’s kind of like Rent the Runway — which we have a review of here.
If you’re enrolled as a student with a valid .edu email address, you can get Amazon Prime for $6.49 per month. An Amazon Prime Student membership comes with exclusive deals on college school supplies, like laptops.
Anyone can save up to 15% and get free shipping on select favorites when they sign up for auto-deliver through Amazon’s Subscribe & Save program.
Prime members can get up to 20% savings on family-centric supplies, including diapers, baby food and food if they ship five or more products in a given month to a single address through Amazon Family.
Prime members can get Amazon Music Unlimited, the site’s premium music subscription service, for $7.99 per month. (Non-Prime subscribers pay $9.99 per month.) Here are some other ways to get unlimited music on the cheap.
Prime members can get their first Book Box — a subscription that delivers children’s books every one, two or three months — for $16.99. (After that, boxes cost $19.99 each, though Amazon advertises 40% savings on the books’ list price.)
Families can essentially share an Amazon Prime through Amazon Household, which lets up to two adults, four teens and four children share certain membership benefits, including free shipping and their free Twitch account.
Expectant families can score a free welcome box and a 15% completion discount off remaining registry items when they set up an Amazon Baby Registry.
