40 of the best Amazon Prime freebies, discounts & deals

Chances are, you have Amazon Prime. The popular subscription service costs $12.99 per month or $119 per year when you pay upfront, a price point that’s easily justified by Prime’s core selling point — free shipping.

But even longtime Prime subscribers might not know all of the service’s benefits. Here are 40 freebies, deals and discounts for Amazon Prime members.

Amazon Prime’s big benefits

1. Shipping

Your Amazon Prime subscription covers two-day shipping, but you can also score free one-day, same-day or even 2-hour delivery on select items in certain areas.

2. TV shows

Prime members can stream popular Amazon Originals, including “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Jack Ryan” and “Fleabag.”

3. Movies

Stream a rotating library of dramas, comedies, action films and more online or via your phone, tablet, game console or Smart TV.

4. Songs

Prime members have access to over 2 million songs, without ads, via Amazon Music.

5. Books

You can take out up to ten free titles at a time from the Amazon Prime Reading catalog. Subscribers with an Amazon Kindle can also tap an even bigger selection — including all seven “Harry Potter” books — through the site’s Lending Library, which lets you borrow one new book each month.

6. Magazines

You can also get free issues of popular magazines through Prime Reading. The Summer 2019 reading list, for instance, includes “Architectural Digest”, “Entrepreneur” and “Vanity Fair”. (Psst … we have our own summer reading list here.)

7. Audiobooks

Prime subscribers can get two free audiobooks if they sign up for a free trial of Audible.

8. Podcasts

Prime members can listen to a rotating line-up of free podcasts on Audible Channels. (Looking for a new podcast? Check out our list of best personal finance podcasts.)
